This wild pony was just a few days old when he was found wandering around desperately trying to find his mother in Dartmoor National Park. Named Breeze, his mom had abandoned him but luckily The Mare and Foal Sanctuary was alerted. When they arrived, Breeze collapsed in their arms from severe shock and dehydration.
He was rescued and given a giant teddy bear (named Button) to comfort him, something the staff knows helps in cases like Breeze’s. “We always give our orphaned foals a giant cuddly toy as a companion,” Syra Bowden, executive director at The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, said in a statement. “They’re just like human babies in the way it provides them with comfort.”
