Darren Sheer and his family were recently on a guided sightseeing tour of a South African game preserve when they came face to face with a charmingly fearless local.
It was a tiny rhino, but what he lacked in stature he more than made up for in boldness.
It all started when the Sheers’ car came upon a mother rhino and her baby on the road ahead of them. While the bystanders were content to admire the beautiful animals from a safe distance, the tiny rhino had other ideas.
The pint-sized child chose to rush at the adults after bravely breaking away from his mother. He repeated it again and again, demonstrating exactly how terrifying and tough he is.
It had a different effect on the Sheers: “This was really heartwarming,” Darren told The Dodo.
Here’s a video of that brave little one in action:
Despite the baby’s tough-guy attitude, his mother never appeared alarmed. She’s seen him do this act before, no doubt. But for the Sheers, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Darren explained, “I was with my family, and the rhino baby was with his family.” “It made us reflect on our own family’s significant memories.” It’s just one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that you won’t forget.”
